To create these tiny vessels I fuse colored glass elements together to be the basic design. This is then placed in the kiln and heated until the glass softens and starts to move. The glass drops through the hole in the mold. Careful monitoring is required to stop the glass movement at just the right moment.
After it cools, the next step is to remove the rim from the top of the vessel. It is cut off with a diamond blade. After this the rim is ground and polished on lapidary equipment .
